In 1993, Andrew was assumed into the partnership of the firm, and established his own expertise in clinical negligence, personal injury and commercial litigation, which now form the bulk of his caseload. His career with Peacock Johnston started in 1987 when he joined our team as a court assistant, training and practicing in a wide variety of civil and criminal law under the firm’s late founding partner, Jim Peacock.
Graduated from the University of Dundee with his LLB in 1984 – followed by his Diploma in Legal Practice in 1985 – before completing his traineeship with an established Glasgow law firm specialising in civil litigation.
Andrew is a highly respected member of the legal profession and lists the following as some of his achievements in the legal profession:
The Legal 500 and the Chambers Legal Guide. Andrew is one of only 5 Claimant Clinical Negligence lawyers in Scotland to be given “Band 1″ status by the highly regarded Chambers Legal Guide. He has variously been described as, ‘the best for medical negligence in Glasgow,’ and ‘building a formidable reputation,’ and as ‘a tenacious practitioner who gets good results for clients.’ He also gives regular lectures to both the medical and legal profession on personal injury and medical negligence.

Since joining us in 1997, Ken has become a specialist in all aspects of family, employment and criminal law, with an interest in commercial and building disputes, licensing appeals and general litigation. Over the years he has built up a solid reputation and, since being assumed as a partner in 2004, he has acted as the partner responsible for Legal Aid issues, data protection, money laundering and client relations.
Graduating from Strathclyde University with his LLB in 1993, and his Diploma in Legal Practice in 1994, Ken served his legal traineeship in a specialist Glasgow court firm. His traineeship included training under the authoritative, late, William J. Stewart. Once qualified, he joined our team at Peacock Johnston as a general civil litigator and criminal solicitor
The regard in which Ken is held by his peers in the legal profession is underlined by him having recently completed a year in office serving as President, and then remaining on the Executive Committee as immediate Past-President of the Glasgow Bar Association. The Glasgow Bar Association, as the largest independent Bar Association in Scotland, is often considered to be the voice of court practitioners in Glasgow and throughout the West of Scotland. Ken also served, for a number of years, as a tutor for the GBA Professional Competence Course. He is also a member of the Family Law Association.

Laura’s career has been wonderfully diverse, including acting as a sole criminal practitioner for a number of law firms, and working as a general court lawyer, before becoming a Director in a Dental Referral Clinic for 10 years. She has also found time to study and graduate with an Masters Degree in Medical Law and Ethics from the University of Glasgow.
Graduating with her LLB in 1980, following an MA in French and Italian, Laura served her apprenticeship and qualified as a solicitor in 1982 in a small, but highly regarded, court specialist Glasgow law firm. She is an experienced court lawyer, having dealt with both civil and criminal law.
With all this experience to hand, Laura returned to the legal profession in 2007, joining our team at Peacock Johnston, and now specialises in medical and dental negligence, and personal injury law. She is now both a valued member of our team, and of the medico-legal profession, being a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and a panel solicitor for Action against Medical Accidents (AVMA). Laura’s reputation has recently been underlined, as she has been recognised by the Law Society of Scotland as one of only 6 lawyers in Scotland to be ranked as an Accredited Specialist in Pursuer’s Clinical Negligence. Laura has also recently been identified by the Chambers Legal Guide as, ‘one to watch,’ in the field of medical negligence and has been praised for being, “passionate and determined.” She also lectures to members of the legal and medical profession in medico-legal matters, and is also involved in tutoring in Medical Law at Edinburgh University’s Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
Laura has also recently been appointed as a Committee Member for the Law Society of Scotland Medical and Health Law Sub-Committee, which will involve her developing policies for the benefit of the profession and contributing towards the development of legislation to the benefit of both the profession and the public.

Yvonne joined Peacock Johnston in October 2014 and specialises in Medical Law. She became an Associate in 2017.
Yvonne studied law at the University of Strathclyde, graduating in 1988 and completing her Diploma in Legal Practice in 1989.
Yvonne’s many years of experience are predominantly in the personal injury field. She has worked for major insurance companies defending personal injury claims, including significant catastrophic injury cases. She also has experience of pursuing claims for individuals. Yvonne has experience of running cases in the Court of Session as well as Sheriff Courts. Previously Yvonne was Head of the Litigation Department in one of the well established Glasgow firms.
Yvonne is involved with in-house training. She is also a mentor and is involved with the Law Society of Scotland’s Career Mentoring Scheme.
Yvonne has a practical, down to earth approach towards her clients, advising on not only the legal aspects of the case but also having regard to the personal and economic impact involved.

Susith has worked for individuals, multi-national insurers, companies and public authorities. Through this experience he has developed versatility in pursuing and defending cases in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland and in the Court of Session. Susith joined Peacock Johnston in 2014 to specialise in Medical Law. He is an Associate at the firm.
Susith studied law at the University of Strathclyde, graduating with his LLB Honours degree in 2006 and completing his Diploma in Legal Practice in 2007. He has had many years of experience as a Solicitor, having worked in three of Scotland’s largest Personal Injury firms. In 2010, Susith completed his traineeship with one of Scotland’s leading defence litigation firms, carrying out mostly Defender orientated Personal Injury work.
Susith then continued to add to his specialisation in Personal Injury work by working with two more of Scotland’s leading litigation practices, accumulating a broad spectrum of experience in Road Traffic Accident, Public Liability and Employers Liability claims. Since joining the firm, he has investigated and pursued a variety of Medical Negligence cases; including cases of misdiagnosis, surgical negligence, anaesthetist negligence, physician negligence, cases involving birth defects, optical cases, cases involving suicide and prescription errors. In addition to his Medical Negligence work, Susith has pursued and settled a number of catastrophic/high value personal injury claims. In addition to his Civil practice, Susith has also successfully represented a number of clients in various Criminal Courts throughout Scotland and is a Committee member of the Glasgow Bar Association.
Susith has a pragmatic and diligent approach towards his work; a friendly and approachable manner towards his clients and is committed to achieving the best outcome for each individual client. Outside of law, Susith is a keen amateur footballer, badminton player, traveller, literature/drama enthusiast, and regularly attends various plays and music concerts.
Kirsty joined Peacock Johnston in 2014, initially working in the firm’s specialised Medical Records Department before commencing her traineeship in 2016. Kirsty is currently in the second year of her traineeship.
Kirsty studied law at Glasgow University, graduating with an LLB Honours degree in 2015 and completing her Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Strathclyde in 2016. Kirsty has a particular interest in Medical Law, not only having specialised in medical-based legal subjects during her Honours years at University, but also having worked for a number of years for NHS 24 in a patient-facing role.
Outside of law, Kirsty enjoys travelling and has travelled extensively around Europe, Asia, North America and Australia. She is also a culinary enthusiast and enjoys cooking, baking and fine dining.
